DNS Diagnostics

What this tool does

When you open this page, it checks which DNS servers your computer is using (the service that turns website names into IP addresses). You can also enter a domain to see which IP addresses it resolves to from your network.

How to use it

1. Enter the domain our support team gave you and click “Check”.

2. Wait until the “DNS queries” count stops changing and “Check complete” appears at the bottom.

3. Take a screenshot of the Summary section, or click “Copy results” and send it to support.

Understanding the results

  • Check ID Support can use this ID to look up the full record of your check
  • Your IP The address you use to connect to the internet
  • Your DNS The DNS servers that look up websites for you, usually provided by your internet provider or company
  • ECS subnet The approximate network your DNS servers share with websites, which some sites use to choose which IP to give you
  • Resolution The domain lookup results from Google and Cloudflare public DNS
  • TTL How many seconds a record can be cached. After a DNS change, it can take up to this long to take effect

Third-party data

Network owners of IP addresses are looked up via RDAP. Domain lookups use the DNS over HTTPS services of Google Public DNS and Cloudflare 1.1.1.1.

Privacy

This site doesn’t use cookies. Our server logs the DNS queries generated by your check (DNS server IP, subnet, and time), used only by support to troubleshoot your issue.
